When I first started playing the piano, recording yourself meant having a little cassette tape recorder sitting next to the piano while practicing. These days the technology available to the home user has improved in quality so dramatically that recordings bordering on professional quality are much more easily accessible. What you will find here are links and details on the some of the music I have for sale as either a digital download or as a CD. Currently all items are available through lulu.com
Music
For those that know me, they would tell you that I have a wide variety of interests, (Computer tips, information security radio, tv, amateur radio, broadcasting South Carolina Genealogy North Carolina Genealogy) (not to mention vocations (Asheville Area Computer Repair), Piano lessons in Asheville, NC). Music has been one of those that I have kept for most of my life. I began piano lessons around the 4th grade and continued for about 4 years. At the same time I took up the violin for a short period of time and the clarinet. I’ve also sung with various choral groups, some more formal than others. I continued on Clarinet and Bass Clarinet through High School and picked back up at piano the end of my Senior year in High School and continued with lessons on the Piano in College. The repertoire was mostly classical, studying various Bach inventions, a sinfonia and prelude and fugue. I’ve also studied Beethoven, Chopin, Mozart, Brahms, Bartok, and Gershwin. For some time I have been a substitute pianist at our Church (Pleasant Grove Union Church) as well as leading singing. In the last year I’ve started sharing more of the piano playing duties there. In addition to that background, I’ve also been teaching private piano lessons at the Asheville Music School since 1998 through which time I’ve learned quite a bit as I hope my students have as well.
It’s taken me a long time to start to make recordings of various things available, in part, because I’m quite self-critical and will likely find many faults with it. But, at some point in time, the work must escape as is and, well that is what I’ve allowed it to do.
